ARTICLE IX. OFFICERS AND OTHER ELECTED POSITIONS

Section 3. Clerk

The Clerk shall keep faithful records of the proceedings of
the church and of the Church Council of which he shall be a member
and its secretary. He shall issue all notices of congregational
meetings. The Clerk shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee
and elected to a two (2) year term at the Annual Meeting.
After serving two (2) full terms, he shall be for one (1) year
ineligible for re-election.

PROPOSED

shall be an ex officio member of all regularly constituted boards
and committees.
A candidate for the position of Moderator should have
served a minimum of one (1) term as a previous Moderator or
Associate Moderator. He shall be nominated by the Nominating
Committee and elected at the Annual Meeting to a term of two (2)
years. After serving one (1) term he shall be for one (1) year ineligible
for re-election.

one (1) year ineligible for re-election.

  1. Treasurer of the Board of Missions and Christian Benevolence

The Treasurer of Missions and Christian Benevolence shall
keep record of all money designated for Missions and
Christian Benevolence and record all disbursements made,
with books to be audited at the end of each church year.
The Treasurer shall be nominated by the Nominating Com-
mittee and elected to a two (2) year term at the Annual
Meeting. After serving two (2) full terms, he shall be for
one (1) year ineligible for re-election.

  1. Chairman of the Board of Christian Education

The Chairman of the Board of Christian Education shall
preside over the meetings and coordinate the educational
ministry of the church.

The Chairman shall be nominated by the Nominating
Committee and elected to a two (2) year term at the Annual
Meeting. After serving two (2) full terms he shall be for
one (1) year ineligible for re-election.

  1. Sunday School Directors

There shall be a Sunday School Pre-School Director and a Sunday School Elementary Director and shall be under the jurisdiction of the Board of Christian Education. Both Directors shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected to two (2) year terms at the Annual Meeting. After serving two (2) full terms, they shall be for one (1) year ineligible for re-election to their current position.

  1. The Pre-School Director shall have general oversight of the Sunday School program for children beyond Nursery eligibility and younger than elementary school age.

  2. The Elementary Director shall have general oversight of the Sunday School program for children in grades one through six.


  1. Children’s Wednesday Night Director


The Children’s Wednesday Night Director shall have general responsibility for, and oversight of, programs for children ages three through sixth grade that take place during the Wednesday Family Nights. This Director shall be under the jurisdiction of the Board of Christian Education. The Children’s Wednesday Night Director shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected to a two (2) year term at the Annual Meeting. After serving two (2) full terms, he shall be for one (1) year ineligible for re-election.


  1. Nursery Director


The Nursery Director shall supervise the operation and staffing of the church Nursery under the jurisdiction of the Church Council and shall have oversight and authority over the furnishings of the Nursery under the jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees. The Nursery Director shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected to a two (2) year term at the Annual Meeting. After serving two (2) full terms, he shall be for one (1) year ineligible for re-election.

  1. Historian

It shall be the duty of the Historian to keep a journal of all
occurrences of interest to the church. At the end of each
term he shall publish a history of the church for general distribution.

The Historian shall be nominated by the Nominating
Committee and elected to a three (3) year term at the
Annual Meeting. He may succeed himself as often as he
is re-elected.

  1. Memorial Fund Chairman

He shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and
elected to a one (1) year term at the Annual Meeting. A
committee of four (4) voting members to assist him shall be
selected, one each of the following: a Deacon, Deaconess,
Trustee and one member from the Board of Missions
and Christian Benevolence. He shall have the responsibility
of administration and direction covering receipts
and expenditures of the Memorial Fund in the best interests
of the church. Final action must have approval of Church
Council and the Board of Trustees. He may succeed him
self as often as he is re-elected.

  1. Hospitality Chairman

The Chairman will appoint and act as overseer and coordinator
of the Committee. The Committee will be responsible for:

  1. Dinners at the church after a funeral, when requested

by the family.
2. Receptions for new members and confirmations.

He shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and
elected to a one (1) year term at the Annual Meeting. He
may succeed himself as often as he is re-elected.

  1. Editorial Director

The Editorial Director shall have charge of the Church
Newsletter. Under the general supervision of the Senior
Pastor, he shall assume responsibility of editing and publishing
with method of distribution at the option of the Edi
tor. All subdivisions of the church are requested to cooper
ate with the editor on news and facts related to the functions
of the church.

He shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and
elected for a one (1) year term at the Annual Meeting. He
may succeed himself as often as he is re-elected.

This Director shall be under the jurisdiction of the Board of Christian Education CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM. The Children’s Wednesday Night FAMILY NIGHT Director shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected to a two (2) year term at the Annual Meeting. After serving two (2) full terms, he shall be for one (1) year ineligible for re-election.


  1. Nursery Director

seven (7) members including the Chairman and the Sunday School
Directors. Their terms will be arranged so that the Chairman is
elected one year and the Directors are elected the alternate year. In addition, there shall be two (2) members-at-large nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected at the Annual Meeting to a two (2) year term, the Children’s Wednesday Night Director, and a volunteer elected annually by the Board from the children’s ministry programs.

The Board shall meet once a month and at special meetings called by the Chairman or Senior Pastor.
The Board shall be responsible for the total Christian Educational programs of the church.

seven (7) members including the Chairman and the Sunday School
Directors. Their terms will be arranged so that the Chairman is
elected one year and the Directors are elected the alternate year. The Board shall be responsible for the total Christian Educational programs of the church.

Children’s Ministry Team.

Sunday School Pre-School Director, Sunday School Elementary Director, and Family Night Director will serve on the Children's Ministry Team.


This team will oversee nursery, pre-school Sunday school, elementary Sunday school, Family Night children’s activities, and Hands In Motion.

The Team will have the option of recruiting more volunteers when needed.

Church membership will only be required for the Children’s Ministry Director position.

The Board of Trustees shall consist of six (6) members of the
church in addition to the Financial Officers. The six (6) members
shall be nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected at
the Annual Meeting with their terms of office being three (3)
years, arranged so that the terms of two (2) members shall expire
annually. After serving two (2) full terms a member shall for one
(1) year be ineligible for re-election. A quorum shall consist of
six (6) members.
The Board shall, at its first meeting after the Annual Meeting,
elect a Chairman and a Secretary from among its six (6) members.
Said Chairman and Secretary shall function as full voting
members of the Board. From time to time it shall appoint such
subcommittees as it deems necessary to carry out its responsibilities.
Such committees shall be made up of members of the Board,
other church members, or both.
The Board shall meet regularly each month and at special
meetings called by its Chairman or the Senior Pastor. It shall receive,
approve or disapprove, and act on:

1. The reports of the Financial Secretary, the Church
Treasurer, and its own committees.
2. Requests for consideration from the Church Council,
Board of Ministrations, Board of Missions and Christian
Benevolence, and Board of Christian Education.
3. Requests from individuals or groups to make contributions
of property to the church.

The Board shall be responsible for the proper care, maintenance

and improvement of all church property and no additions or
improvements in church property shall be made without specific
approval of the Board.
It shall contract for all employees and devices for the church
and arrange for acquisition of such equipment and supplies
necessary.
The Board shall have authority over the use of church property,
and all persons or groups desiring to use church property shall
submit their request in writing to the Board or the Senior Pastor.
The Board shall formulate rules and regulations including schedules
of fees for the use of the church social rooms and of its facilities.

The Board is charged with the safekeeping of the church
property and shall keep it adequately insured and make such
provisions for its security as found necessary and proper. It shall
be responsible for proper maintenance and improvement of all
church property and shall determine mode and amount of such
payment for such services and arrange for the acquisition of such
equipment and supplies necessary for these maintenances. They
shall have sole authority over the use of any and all church
property except as specifically authorized.
The Board shall have no power to buy, sell, lease or transfer
church real property without specific authority by vote of the
church membership.
No person, Board, or Committee shall authorize any
expenditure or pledge the credit of the church unless specific
permission of the Board has been granted, and the Board shall not
authorize any expenditures which would exceed the total budget
without prior authorization from the membership.
It shall be the duty of this Board to formulate the annual church
budget and present it to the Church Council for review and then to
the congregation for its approval.

benevolence budget of the church, to assist in the raising of the
budget, and to apportion all funds so raised.
All funds pledged to the Board shall be collected and deposited
to the Board’s account by the Financial Secretary taking receipts
for same and transmitted to the Treasurer of the Board.
It shall also be the responsibility of this Board, working with
all organizations of the church, to make the stewardship of time,
money, and ability effective. It shall evaluate and promote the
church’s world missions as an integral part of the church life. It
shall seek to discover and enlist the talents of all church members
in the service of Christ.

duty of the Board to fix and determine the annual mission and
benevolence budget of the church, to assist in the raising of the
budget, and to apportion all funds so raised.
All funds pledged to the Board shall be collected and deposited
to the Board’s account by the Financial Secretary taking receipts
for same and transmitted to the Treasurer of the Board.
It shall also be the responsibility of this Board, working with
all organizations of the church, to make the stewardship of time,
money, and ability effective. It shall evaluate and promote the
church’s world missions as an integral part of the church life. It
shall seek to discover and enlist the talents of all church members

ARTICLE XI. AUXILIARY ORGANIZATIONS

All organizations connected with the church and using its
equipment and facilities are regarded as integral parts of the
church and under its general jurisdiction. Requests for the
formation of new organizations shall be made to the Church
Council.
Auxiliary organizations are invited to contribute financially
to the church under plans of their own choosing.

All organizations connected with the church and using its
equipment and facilities are regarded as integral parts of the
church and under its general jurisdiction. Requests for the
formation of new organizations shall be made to the Church
Council.
Auxiliary organizations are invited EXPECTED to contribute financially
to the church under plans of their own choosing.
